PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PENDAMPINGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA YANG MEMILIKI KELUARGA DENGAN SKIZOFRENIA TERHADAP TINGKAT KESEMBUHAN DAN LAMA RAWAT DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA ISLAM KLENDER

Abstract

Purpose:Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder characterized by loss of contact with reality (psychosis), hallucinations, delusions (false beliefs), abnormal thoughts and disrupting work and social functioning (Priyanto, 2013). WHO states that the problem of mental disorders throughout the world has become a very serious problem with current estimates that there are 450 million people experiencing mental disorders with an average ratio of 1 in 4 people in the world. Method: The method used in this community service program is by providing increasing knowledge and support for families who have schizophrenic children. Results: The results of the outreach activities showed an increase in knowledge and family support for schizophrenia patients. Conclusion: The implication of the results of this community service is that it is necessary to provide education regarding the importance of family support for schizophrenia patients
